Stainless Steel Machining

Custom Stainless Steel Machined Parts

Stainless steel is an iron and chromium alloy which contains a minimum of 10% chromium. The additional chromium provides a pristine surface finish and exceptional corrosion resistance not found in carbon steels.Stainless steel has many advantages such as extreme durability and corrosion resistance, making it a preferred material for precision Swiss machining.

Expedited Machining owned swiss machine facility utilizing various techniques of Swiss machining and screw machining for stainless steel parts and assemblies in any shape to any tolerance.

Stainless Steel 303

Stainless Steel 304

Stainless Steel 305

Stainless Steel 316

303 is a popular free-machining alloy. good corrosion resistance, with stands heat well, and can be finished to a high polish. can be annealed, not ideal for welding. Used in electronic hardware, automotive, aerospace, medical instruments. 304 is an extremely popular low-cost alloy, most common stainless steel used globally. Excellent corrosion, oxidation, and heat resistance. The most weldable of any steel alloy. Used in Applications needing formability or weldability. 305 Stainless Steel is an austenitic chromium nickel stainless steel with a low rate of work hardening, non hardenable by heat treatment. Used in barrels , shells , cold headed rivets or screws. 316 is durable, easy-to-fabricate, clean, weld and finish. superior heat and corrosion resistance. suitable for laboratory, medical, aerospace, and marine environments.

Stainless Steel 416

Stainless Steel 420

Stainless Steel 440

Stainless Steel 455

416 is a martensitic, free-machining, chromium steel alloy. highly resistant to acids, alkalis, fresh water and dry air. less corrosion resistant than non-free-machining steels Exceptionally good machinability, a higher carbon version of 410, similar to 410 plus increased strength and hardness. When fully hardened it is the hardest of this family of stainless steels. A high-carbon alloy, highest wear resistance, hardness, and strength of any stainless steel alloy.less corrosion resistant. not ideal for welding or forming. Excellent formability, good corrosion resistance, exceptionally high yield strength with good ductility and toughness. It should be considered where simplicity of heat treatment, ease of fabrication, high strength and corrosion resistance are required in combination.

Stainless Steel 430

Stainless Steel 431

Stainless Steel 436

Stainless Steel 442

Highly formable and has exceptional resistance to acids and stress corrosion cracking.used in home appliances, cutlery, fasteners, and automotive trim. Highest corrosion resistance of all hardenable martensitic stainless steels. typical applications include valves, pumps, propeller shafts, marine equipment. Nearly identical to 434 but contains more molybdenum and titanium which allows for higher pitting corrosion resistance. used for furnace combustion chambers, gas burners, dishwashers, range hoods, steam iron bases, flatware and gutters. Has exceptionally high corrosion resistance due to high levels of chromium. excellent heat resistance, but cannot be heat treated and is difficult to machine. used in furnace, combustion components, zinc die casting machines, nitrogen fixation parts, storge tanks for nitric acid ,and decorative trim.
